CLA SITE is currently working with the Town of Minerva on their Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan as per New York State Department of State guidelines. The plan’s boundary encompasses a large portion of the town including eighteen water bodies for a total of 45+ square miles. The vision and priority of the planning effort is to protect the town’s pristine natural resources, identity opportunities for water quality improvements, and focus economic development initiatives to local hamlets and recreational facilities throughout the town.
CLA SITE and Planning 4 Places are responsible for public outreach, project development, GIS mapping, report preparation, government coordination, State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) and overall grant requirements. The project’s team members identified innovative ways to engage the public during the coronavirus pandemic by conducting drive-through events, committee meetings held outdoors under tents, social media outreach, and a newsletter.
