The park master plan highlights the site’s unique natural features and new floodplain habitat that will be created to mitigate flooding of the lower Sauquoit Creek. The new mile-long trail system will provide an active recreational destination for walking and biking that links a local elementary school and two surrounding neighborhoods. The site will also feature a wetland discovery boardwalk with interpretive signage educating visitors about the importance of floodplains and the history of flooding on the Sauquoit Creek.
CLA SITE led environmental coordination with the State Historic Preservation Office and completed the Joint Permit application for the United States Army Corps of Engineers and NYS Department of Environmental Conservation. CLA prepared all graphics for two interpretive panels.
