CLA SITE developed a comprehensive concept plan for a proposed park reclaiming a 78-acre sand and gravel mine in Rotterdam Junction between the Mohawk River and remnants of the Erie Canal. The park will serve as a passive recreation destination featuring a 60-acre lake for fishing and non-motorized watercraft. There are also proposed hiking trails, activity fields, picnic pavilions, rain shelters and a boat launch.

The park concept establishes connections to the adjacent Hudson Mohawk Bike-Hike Trail, Mabee Farm Historic Site, Native American Cultural Center, planned George Francere Education Center, and possible mixed-use development associated with brownfield redevelopment of a neighboring auto salvage yard.
