CLA SITE supported the Rose Garden Restoration Committee to restore, inventory and design a master plan for the historic Central Park Rose Garden in the City of Schenectady, New York. In coordination with the community and the restoration committee, CLA SITE, designed a master plan that included the creation of two main cross axes, an arched pergola, a new fountain, a grand staircase with cascading water feature and increased visibility for the garden.
The ambitious plan was set into motion with the assistance of an active group of gardeners and volunteers to see the garden come back to life after years of neglect. Today, all of the features of the masterplan have been realized through innovative fundraising and design/build techniques. The garden has truly transformed into a gem for neighbors, residents and visitors of the
City of Schenectady.
